About Nanjing: Nanjing (Chinese: 南京) is the capital of Jiangsu province in eastern China and has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having been the capital of China on several occasions. It was the capital of Sun Quan's Wu during the Three Kingdoms Period and the capital of the Republic of China prior to its flight to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War. Nanjing has long been a national centre of education, research, transport networks and tourism. With an urban population of over seven million (2011), Nanjing is the second-largest commercial centre in the East China region after Shanghai. It has been ranked seventh in the evaluation of "Cities with Strongest Comprehensive Strength" issued by the National Statistics Bureau, and second in the evaluation of cities with most sustainable development potential in the Yangtze River Delta. It has also been awarded the title of 2008 Habitat Scroll of Honour of China, Special UN Habitat Scroll of Honour Award and National Civilized City. About You: *You have a pleasing personality, energetic, and like to work with young children . *You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and relate positively to students, staff and parents, inspiring them with confidence in the school. *You are genuinely interested in the academic and social development of students aged 6-12. *You're an effective team player. *Experience of living and working in a foreign country would be an advantage. *Well-organised and administratively efficient. *Professional, well-spoken and smartly-dressed. About the Job: Position: ESL Teacher Location: Nanjing, Jiangsu Province Duration: August 25, 2015 - August 31, 2016 Responsibilities: *Undertake teaching ESL, with the other activities of the International Department. *Working Hours: Flexible; classes are Monday to Friday from 08:00-17:00, weekends off *20-25 contact hours per week (4-5 classes per day; 40 minutes each) *Teach students ranging in age from 6-12 years old; 24 - 36 students/class *Total about 30 total working hours/week - no standardized office hours *Attend faculty meetings when scheduled by the Department Head or Principal *Willing to relocate to China for a 10 month contract *Able to arrive in China by August 25, 2015 The post-holder will fulfill the following criteria: Minimum Qualifications: *Hold a degree from an accredited four-year university *ESL, TEFL, or TESOL certificate preferred *Native English Speaker from U.K., United States, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia *At least 2 years' teaching experience is preferred *Age 25-50, and at least two years "life experience" since graduation (for purposes of obtaining a work visa) *Clean criminal record *Excellent mental and physical health Remuneration Package: *Gross salary CNY from 10,000/ month (commensurate with experience and qualifications) *Housing provided *Utilities paid by the school *Meals provided by the school during working days *Medical check and visa costs reimbursed *Accident insurance *International airfare allowance reimbursement *10 days national holiday *Paid winter holiday (about 4 weeks) *Summer holiday is paid if teacher re-signs for a second year How to apply: If you are interested in applying for this position, we kindly request you prepare the following materials: *Covering Letter CV *A recent photograph *Scan copy of your passport information page *Scan copies of your university degree and relevant certificates *Your current location and preferred start date *Two reference letters from your most recent employers (if possible) Due to the volume of applications received, please understand it may not be possible for the company to contact each candidate individually.
