Overview:
At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities:
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
* Performs routine, urgent, and STAT electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures on acute and ambulatory patient populations.
* Applies and removes ambulatory rhythm monitors.
* Edits and processes reports in the EKG PACS system.
* Performs daily maintenance and quality control.
* Cleans and stocks rooms and carts.
* Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. Staff member will contact clinical engineering, supervisor, or director if equipment is malfunctioning or requires repair.
* Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required by the department or facility.
* Demonstrates work practices consistent with CHI Health values and department specific safety, security and infection control policies.
* Authorized to make entries in the medical record that are within the scope of the position.
* Abides by applicable laws and regulations relative to safety, security, and patient privacy (HIPAA).
* Must have ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.

Qualifications:
Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses & Certifications:
* Basic Life Support (CPR) from the American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Proper patient preparation and lead placement for ECG's, holter monitors, and event recorders.
* Proper use of each type of equipment for the above procedures and the ECG reporting system.
* Basic cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
* Ability to transport equipment to various areas in the hospital and assist patients on and off exam table
