Responsibilities:

Now Hiring for an EHS Specialist at our MSA Safety - Globe Manufacturing, Pittsfield, NH manufacturing plant.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

* Maintain and ensure effective program management and facilitate effective training for the following subjects (but not limited to): OSHA required training, Hazard Communication/EHS, Emergency Preparedness, Lock Out/Tag Out, Do Not Operate, Housekeeping, Ergonomics, Behavior Based Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental (Air, Water, Waste, Refrigerant), Sustainability and New Hire Orientation.

* Develop, maintain and revise local Environmental, Health and Safety manuals and procedures.

* Develop, maintain and revise location specific MSA EHS Management System programs.

* Manage all government regulatory reporting and investigations for Environmental, Health and Safety compliance obligations for the location(s).

* Collaborate with facility management team to monitor EHS activities and incidents including safety Gemba, assessments and regulatory reviews. Utilize the Operating System tools to promote safety initiatives, visibility and develop/track KPI.

* Manage all EHS data for the facility by creating and updating databases. Complete regular analysis of the data to identify gaps and areas of increased risk and develop corrective actions.

* Prepare and communicate safety messages, participate in on site employee communication meetings, monthly safety tracking and quarterly management reviews.

* Develop and lead a safety champion team by identifying participants, providing training, collaborating in regular schedule of meetings and designing activities to improve safety engagement and knowledge.

* Lead first responders and emergency response teams. Coordinate the overall plant emergency response process.

* Lead and facilitate effective incident management and investigations utilizing root cause processes, corrective action planning, closure of actions and completing proper documentation/notification.

* Review production, maintenance and laboratory processes and procedures for hazards and risk.

* Utilize the Risk Assessment processes to incorporate mitigation and elimination actions to reduce potential for incidents. Utilize this information to create and update Job Safety procedures, PPE requirements and training.

* Lead ergonomics program and facilitate a site ergonomics team to incorporate best practices and training into all the activities and processes. Utilize assessment tools to design new processes, prioritize current risk and solve ergonomic risk activities.

* Manage all EHS data for the facility by creating and updating databases. Complete regular analysis of the data to identify gaps and increased risk areas and develop corrective actions.

* Lead waste management activities to meet regulatory requirements including but not limited to inspections, storage, waste disposal, reporting, record keeping, and auditing.

* Oversee location specific sustainability efforts including data collection and reporting, establishment of sustainability teams, and the development and implementation of action plans to support organization goals.

* Provide specific training packages, guidance and support to MSA locations regarding training to ensure all associates understand hazards and the protective measures prescribed for their safety.

* Create and maintain methods to gather, analyze, report and utilize performance data (numerical and non-numerical) to improve overall safety performance. Role will create new reports, make presentations, develop improvement proposals, organize best practices and communicate performance enhancing safety information to management and teams.

Qualifications:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

* Strong English communication skills both written and verbal.
* Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and time-management skills.
* Familiarity with federal and state government regulations.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, solve technical problems, lead projects, and to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
* Highly engaged and self-motivated with ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.
* Ability to read and understand EHS and Product regulations.

Education and Experience Required:

* Bachelor of Science degree in a Safety or Environmental related degree.
* Level I: Entry level. No experience required.
* Level II: 3 years' experience in an occupational environmental, health and safety function.

Preferred Experience:

* Level I: 1 year experience in an occupational environmental, health and safety function for a manufacturing company.
* Level II: 3 years' experience in an occupational environmental health and safety function for a manufacturing company.
