Job Summary:
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHS) is responsible for the integration of EHS services into the business practices and compliance with regulatory requirements on their assigned Project. The EHS manager oversees responsibilities of their assigned project as related to environmental health & safety services and has direct interaction with EHS Staff, Superintendents, Project Manager, Project Executive and Area/Regional EHS Director. Responsibilities may include inspecting machinery, equipment, and other working conditions on project sites. Observes workers to determine use of prescribed and proper safety equipment, such as glasses, helmets, respirators, fall protection and clothing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Directs and administers specific functions of the EHS program at the company or project level.
* Creates, evaluates, educates, and administers the EHS program for all levels of employees.
* Conducts surveys, evaluations, inspections, and investigations of incidents and activities without supervision.
* Attends pre-construction meetings; reviews specific EHS manuals of subcontractors and correlate to SHEMS programs.
* Evaluates EHS programs for effectiveness, manages budget, develops new hire safety professionals, develops relationships with community, project managers, labor groups, and project contractors.
* PSLT provide support and conduct safety meetings, owner meetings, and prove updates, post incident walk meetings, craft lunch, pre-task meetings, ESSV, daily safety walks and compliance walks.
* Provide training as Skanska and OSHA require, incident reporting and investigations, collect incident performance data and analysis and support project teams.
* Conduct orientations: site specifics, choose save a life, documentation, and new hire paperwork.
* Gathers information and correlates data.
* Able to perform all aspects of EHS training.
* Ability to run multi-projects on one site.
* Refines working knowledge of EHS programs by applying EHS procedures.
* Manages subcontractors including reviewing and onboarding, EHS submittals, training documents, CWPs, and task specific plans.
* Hosts PlanIt training and support sessions.
* Hosts Procore training and support sessions.
* Direct and supervise the activities of subordinates.
* Participates in monitoring and controlling EHS standards.
* Performs site walks (formal and informal).
* Prepares, maintains, and retrieves records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring application of EHS standards.
* Promotes EHS awareness and fosters this awareness throughout the company, project, or office.
* Promotes the IFE Culture between clients, co-workers, and subcontractors.
* Supports all IFE Committee Initiatives on site.

Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree - construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 7 years prior relevant experience.
* Strong written communication skills
* Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
* 5+ years of experience in a role assigned to the identification of safety hazards and recommending appropriate controls
* 5+ years of experience in a safety role that required communication with employees at all levels in a construction environment
* OSHA 30 certification
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
* OSHA outreach trainer
* Current first aid/CPR/AED certification
* Ability to learn new software programs
* Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to safety and environmental issues
Competencies / Skills:
Has demonstrated proficiency in:
* Building and Construction Knowledge - EHS: Applies building and construction knowledge to properly assess all EH&S risks and exposures during all phases of the project progression.
* Communications: Creates and delivers communications that express ideas clearly and concisely using appropriate mediums. Targets the amount, form, level of detail, and content of information to the needs of the receiver/audience.
* Compliance Inspections: Conducts compliance inspections to ensure hazardous conditions or at-risk behaviors are identified and corrected and that project teams are following EHS policy and procedures. Implements and maintains corrective actions to remediate non-compliance.
* EHS Performance Indicators: Maintains, tracks and trends all leading and lagging indicators and provides environmental, health and safety (EHS) statistics necessary for submitting reports and communicating performance to all affected groups.
* EHS Regulations: Keeps current on all EH&S regulations and utilizes all federal, state and local requirements, industry standards and governing regulations to provide guidance and effectively communicate changes to affected groups
* EHS Tools and Technology (USB 0,2, USC 0,1): Utilizes digital platforms, tools and systems for tracking and trending EH&S metrics, creating EHS plans and report documentation
* EHS Training: Develops, implements and delivers training to field operations employees about Skanska's EHS programs, policies and procedures as well as local and federal requirements and regulations.
* Incident Management - Project-level: Conducts and/or manages incident investigations ensuring that accidents involving personal injury, property damage, environmental impacts, etc. are thoroughly investigated, analyzed, and documented.
* ISO Standards (SHEMS): Implements and communicates the requirements of Skanska's Safety, Health and Environmental Management System (SHEMS) and ensures conformance to the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Standards.
* Plans and Specifications - EHS: Reads and interprets client/owner specifications and EH&S requirements. Outlines and makes recommendations to ensure compliance with all EHS regulations and standards, Skanska policies and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
* Recordkeeping: Receives, tracks and maintains all EH&S related documentation (Incident reports, training records, monitoring and calibration records, SHEMS documentation, etc.)
* Risk Management: Identifies potential risks related to operations, specifications, scope, and project execution. Develops plans and strategies to mitigate risk throughout the life cycle of a project.
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
