ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL

Responsibilities:

No two days in emergency nursing are ever the same. You're a multitasker who can react quickly as you'll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while you're providing emergency triage to others. As part of our ER team, you'll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts, foley catheter insertions, or aiding providers with chest tube insertions. 

To thrive as an ER nurse, you should exhibit teamwork, professionalism, critical thinking skills, and a willingness to take on additional projects such as patient experience initiatives. More than anything, you should be energetic and motivated to provide quality care to all of our patients, maintaining their dignity at every step. 

  Provides comprehensive safe and effective evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.

  Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.

  Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.

  Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices

  Documents the nursing care plan and incorporates the nursing process following the standard of care for patient care area.

  Documents assessments reassessments and all nursing interventions within established timeframes.

  Connects with and establish relationships with the patient and their family/caregivers using therapeutic communication skills.

  Involves the patient and family/caregiver in desired outcomes in formulating the plan of care.

  Takes individual responsibility and accountability for patient/family satisfaction utilizing tools such as nursing bundle hand off report.

  Involves the patient and family in appropriate educational activities in preparation for return to home situation.

  Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab vitals signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.

  Recognizes limits of scope of practice seeks multidisciplinary collaboration utilizes appropriate resources and follows chain of command.

  Assumes accountability for decisions made.

  Partners with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required

  Two (2) years of recent ED nursing experience

  Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)

  Must hold and maintain AZ or compact state RN license (RN)

  American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (CT ACLS)

  American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)

  American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (CT PALS)

  Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Basic Computer Skills including MS Office Suites

Preferred

  Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN)
