Responsibilities:

MSA's Product Design Documentation Team is looking for someone who has a passion for the details, is technically savvy, and has a continuous improvement mindset. Summary of position: 

At MSA, a Drafter creates and revises detailed Computer-aided Design (CAD) part and assembly drawings, utilizing various software, to support the needs of engineering, manufacturing, sourcing and approvals in accordance with industry and MSA drawing standards. Possessing or gaining knowledge in applications like Creo, Windchill, SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, Adobe Illustrator, DraftSight and SAP is needed. A Drafter would possess those skills and would proactively assist with improvements in workflow and document structures with those involved to improve the development and use of product design documentation.

Qualifications:

What we require:

* Excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly inform stakeholders of progress
* Ability to recognize discrepancies or errors while seeking out alternative solutions for obstacles encountered
* Consistently meet deadlines while producing high quality results
* Facilitation of documentation releases and changes through defined software and processes
* Knowledge of drawing structures and documentation standards
* 2D and 3D CAD in SolidWorks
* Minimum two-year technical school degree or Associate degree in a technical discipline
* Level I - 0 to 2 years of experience with CAD software
* Level II - 2 or more years of experience with CAD software

What we prefer:

* Experience with Creo and Windchill
* Experience with SAP functions associated with engineering change management
* Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
* Adobe Illustrator know-how
