Overview: By Light Professional IT Services LLC readies warfighters and federal agencies with technology and systems engineered to connect, protect, and prepare individuals and teams for whatever comes next. Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system manuals, user guides, SOPs, and configuration guides for RangeOS and Gray Space. * Assist in the maintenance and revision of Range Builder and Gray Space course content, ensuring alignment with current software capabilities and training objectives. * Collaborate with engineering and training teams to gather source material and translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation. * Ensure documentation complies with DoD standards, security classification guidelines, and version control practices. * Support the creation of visual aids, diagrams, and flowcharts to enhance understanding of system workflows and configurations. * Participate in Agile development cycles to stay current on system updates and incorporate changes into documentation in real time. * Organize and manage documentation repositories, ensuring accessibility and traceability for internal and external stakeholders. * Assist in preparing materials for training events, fielding activities, and accreditation packages. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field. * IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoDD 8570. * Minimum of 3+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation development for software systems. * Familiarity with cyber range environments, virtualization, and Linux-based systems. * Experience working with DoD programs, classified environments, or secure networks. * Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, JIRA, Adobe Acrobat. * Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
