				Overview:

The Director of Nursing for T/FFC and GH Health Services programs works in consultation with the Vice President of Health Services and Chief for Youth and Family Wellbeing Programs.  S/he is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures and oversight for the comprehensive healthcare of children in foster care and adoption programs.

Location:                              7 West Burnside Avenue, Bronx, New York 10453

Hours:                                   35 Hours/Week; Exempt

Major Duties:      

* Directly supervise agency Nursing Supervisors and Managers.
* Establish trauma sensitive health service standards and philosophy that are to be followed by Health Services staff, facility personnel and other concerned parties consistent with Good Shepherd's philosophy, agency regulations and city, state and federal regulatory requirements.
* Hire, supervise, instruct and evaluate nursing and mental health staff. 
* Update all agency health services policy and procedure manuals to reflect changes directed by regulatory bodies.
* Oversee linkage agreements with Children's Aid Society's, Foundling and other 29i clinics for all participants in Good Shepherd Services' care and ensure that linkages are managed to serve our foster children with quality medical services, and to meet full compliance with documentation. Ensure that our linkage agreements include knowledge of trauma informed care.
* Plan, implement and monitor administrative and data retrieval systems, ensuring continuous review of health care needs of each child, including mandated, routine or emergency medical, dental, wellness, as appropriate, and oversee the preparation of appropriate health care forms and materials to meet program needs and external requirements.
* Oversee any and all health-related linkage agreements with medical and dental providers to ensure these are managed to serve our young people in care with quality therapeutic services integrated with casework goals.
* Ensure compliance with funder requirements.
* Ensure continuous development of a "preferred provider" network of services to meet the health needs of the children and represent the Agency in professional and community affairs related to the medical care of children.
* Oversee the development and provision of in-service training in health and medical related information for staff and/or children and their families. 
* Oversee the development of, and ensure the provision of, required family life and sex education and training to the young people in care.
* Complete 29i required medical documents timely.
* Share on call rotation with other nurses.
* Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to infection control throughout the agency.
* Represent agency at external meetings.
* Ensure compliance with all city and state regulations related to areas of responsibility, for example OMIG, 29i as well as keep the agency informed about changes in Medicaid reimbursement.
* Collaborate with Human Resources, Facilities and other departments and programs as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Remain fully connected to funder's health resources such as the ACS and OCFS in order to obtain the best services the system has to offer for our youth and families.

Qualifications:  

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required (NYS Licensed Registered Nurse)
* Advanced degree in Nursing, Medicine, Psychology or Master's degree in Health Care Management with supervisory/administrative experience preferred.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
* Interest in working with children/adolescents. 
* Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
* Must be willing to travel to multiple sites.
