Summary/Objective The individual must be forward thinking, raise the bar and expectations of the Engineering team. This role is responsible for tying together multiple production lines across multiple divisions. They should be able to lead their team to accomplish challenging goals by effective leadership strategies. This individual must be passionate, hardworking and have a sense of urgency for all projects. This position will be responsible for establishing these values in the team and basic engineering structure, procedure and policies in internal and external areas of engineering. As well as working with other groups to accomplish the goals of the company and meeting expectations of the customers. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Help to merge multiple production lines across divisions. * Help evolve the company's design philosophy and processes * Lead, mentor and grow a team of designers and engineers * Translate business objectives into design objectives and initiatives * Work closely and collaboratively with product management. * Present concepts in various stages of completion to groups large and small * Conduct yourself at the highest level in accordance with the corporate core values * Continue self-development and learning to share with and sharpen the team * Ability to function as a bridge across disciplines, such as Design, Product, Engineering and Marketing * Strong business acumen; understands the many dimensions of a growing company, their importance, and design's relationships with each * Should be self-motivated and possess high level of personal initiative * High level of creativity; ability to evaluate and address training needs of personnel * Must maintain a high level of energy, able to effectively facilitate multiple projects * Manage and oversee the Engineering teams consisting of: Designers/Drafters working with 3D SolidWorks and PLM software, as well as other technical backgrounds. Direct reports include product engineering managers, design engineers, and laboratory technicians. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work could also necessary. Travel Local and/or minimal out of state travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in engineering * 10+ years of relevant work experience with 5+ years of experience in leading/managing a team of designers * Business/industry experience * Highly motivated and passionate leader of people Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
