Overview: POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Support Services is responsible for directing the Support Services division, which includes Patient Transport, Medical Communications and Environmental Services. Ensures the medical center environment is sanitary, meeting infection control standards, and attractive and in orderly condition, including buildings and clinics in which the division provides services. Ensures infrastructure and operations of medical communications systems, including hospital operators, PALs operators, and nurse call, meet needs of a tertiary medical center. Responsible for strategy and overall delivery of services related to patient transport throughout the medical center with emphasis on timely throughput and movement of patients to promote effective and efficient department productivity of all medical center departments utilizing services. Responsible for developing, implementing and administering budgets, fiscal year plans, policies, and procedures for the division in accordance with Medical Center, accreditation and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: * Bachelors in Management, healthcare or related field Experience: * Experience working in hospital facility, including knowledge of hospital throughput, operations, and division standards in order to effectively oversee and direct services within the division * 3 years progressively more responsible related work experience in leadership * Technical and analytical skills necessary to analyze problems, develop corrective measures, and implement action; gather and analyze financial data, estimate manpower, materials and equipment needs, develop policies and procedures, and evaluate new material and equipment. Other skills/knowledge: * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
