				Overview:

A unique opportunity exists within the Informatics business segment to join the Mass Spectrometry Software (SW) portfolio at Waters, the world's leading innovator in liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and lab informatics.

The MS Software Portfolio within Informatics is a dedicated team focused on the design, development, commercialization, and continuous advancement of MS application solutions across various markets. Working closely with both hardware and platform software groups, the team delivers software solutions that enhance the user experience and address critical challenges in both trace quantitation and high-resolution MS workflows.

The Software Product Management and Marketing Lead is responsible for driving the commercial success and market adoption of software products. This role involves defining the strategic direction and roadmap for each product, ensuring competitiveness and differentiation in dynamic markets.

Success in this position requires close collaboration with engineering, marketing, and market segment teams to prioritize development efforts and execute high-impact marketing campaigns.

Working alongside the SW Engineering Director, the Lead will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from market and competitive analysis to business case development, opportunity assessment, and the creation of product roadmaps and solutions. This role also extends to product marketing and commercial performance, ensuring sustained market success.

To achieve these objectives, the Lead will manage a direct team, providing strategic direction, coaching for high performance, and prioritizing efforts to drive successful outcomes.

During this critical period, the Lead will also support the SW Portfolio Owner in attracting and developing world-class talent while building a strong leadership pipeline to ensure long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

As the Product Management and Marketing Lead for MS Software, your responsibilities will include:

* Defining and executing the software product strategy in collaboration with segment strategy teams to identify and expand product offerings across applicable markets.
* Providing market and competitor intelligence to inform overall business strategy.
* Evangelizing our solutions internally and externally to educate key stakeholders.
* Developing business cases in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to quantify and prioritize opportunities.
* Leading the definition and prioritization of product roadmaps and translating market needs into high-level requirements.
* Managing a team of Product Managers, Product Owners, and Product Marketing professionals who work with development teams to articulate the product vision and drive the creation of commercial launch materials for maximum success.
* Overseeing all aspects of product management, from commercial launch to in-market performance, including gathering customer feedback, refining requirements, and addressing issues.
* Measuring and managing key business performance indicators against forecasted objectives.
* Recruiting, retaining, and developing a high-performing team.

Qualifications:

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

* Strong experience in product management, product ownership, marketing, regional marketing, business development, or another customer-facing role within the analytical instrumentation, software, or life sciences industry.
* Proven success in leading and developing teams.
* A strong understanding of software practices and technologies.
* A BSc/Eng in Science, Engineering, or Business, or equivalent commercial experience.
* A demonstrated ability to build relationships and rapport across organizations and with customers/scientists.
* A can-do attitude and a drive to go beyond expectations.
* Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and leadership skills.
* A strategic vision combined with exceptional organizational, planning, and execution abilities.
* Strong business acumen with a keen understanding of sales and commercial strategy.
* Financial expertise, including experience working within budgetary guidelines and developing compelling investment proposals or business cases.
* Cross-cultural agility and sensitivity.
* Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
* Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
