We are seeking a Senior Director, Physician and APP Compensation and Contracting to join our Provider Compensation team.
The Senior Director, Physician and APP Compensation and Contracting, leads the system-wide physician and APP compensation and contracting functions, ensuring fair, compliant, and market-informed financial arrangements for employed and contracted providers. This role is responsible for the managing and executing physician and APP compensation plan design, fair market value and commercial reasonableness validation, contract life-cycle management, governance oversight, and market analysis.
This Senior Director also works with St. Luke's Clinic senior leadership in developing strategies, pay practices, and infrastructure to support the health system's overall goals. In this position, you will oversee all core processes, including compensation work intake, triage, prioritization, annual plan management, and regulatory compliance.
As the primary liaison to legal, compliance, human resources, finance, operational leadership, and external consultants, this Senior Director ensures timely, accurate, and compliant management of all physician and APP financial arrangements. You will also lead a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for talent development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of the department's services.
What You Can Expect
The Senior Director, Physician and APP Compensation and Contracting will:
* Lead the development, maintenance, and administration of physician and APP compensation models across all specialties, ensuring alignment with fair market value, commercial reasonableness standards, and organizational policies.
Manage the full life-cycle of physician arrangement contracts, including drafting, renewal, compliance monitoring, and governance approvals in collaboration with legal and operational leadership.
* Oversee the fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness (CR) validation processes for all provider financial arrangements.
* Establish and manage processes for intake, triage, prioritization, and resolution of physician and APP compensation requests, changes, and escalations.
* Oversee the annual physician and APP compensation plan review, update, and implementation cycle to ensure timely delivery of compensation plan documents, communications, and related materials.
* Ensure consistency of compensation and benefits programs by applying strong governance and leveraging up-to-date market analysis, including the evaluation of provider market trends, benchmarking data, and emerging industry practices to inform compensation plan development and maintain competitiveness.
* Serve as the primary interface with Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Finance, Operational Leaders, and external consultants on all matters related to provider compensation and contracting.
* Guide the development, preparation, and presentation of cases for governance committees to review and approve physician and APP financial arrangements.
* Direct the timely and accurate administration of physician and APP pay in coordination with Finance, HRIS, and Payroll teams, ensuring the integrity of data and compliance with contractual terms.
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance in all aspects of physician and APP financial arrangements.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team responsible for physician and APP compensation, contracting, compliance, analytics, and administrative support.
* Develop and manage the departmental operating budget, resource planning, and staff development to meet the growing and evolving needs of the organization.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments, industry best practices, and emerging risks related to physician and APP compensation and contracting.
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field AND
* Ten (10)years' relevant experience
