Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Mercy Medical Center Merced is a Level II Trauma Center, and has 6 OR suites located in the Hospital. We offer a full range of surgical services, including outpatient surgery done right next to the Hospital, at the Mercy Medical Pavilion which has another 6 Operating Rooms . We offer specialties ranging from orthopedics, including total joints, to gastroenterology and gynecological surgery, and typically do 8-15 cases per day.
As our Director of Nursing Perioperative Services you will strive to lead and inspire ~90 staff members, including front line managers, working in a fast paced environment, and seek to promote and ensure quality practices in compliance with all Local, State, and Federal agencies' rules and regulations. You will be a visible leader, available for your team and able to effectively monitor staff performance and practices, allowing you to successfully participate in the development of competencies, performance standards and surgery protocols for the Hospital. You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to surgery services and strategies.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA).
* Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience.
Licensure:
* Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS), other credentials or modules may be required.
