At CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs, patients are at the heart of our care. Our campus is designed to heal the body, mind and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services include a new pavilion featuring enhancements in heart and vascular care, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities:

As Director of Nursing at Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, IA, you will contribute by strategically planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining patient care programs, policies, and management systems across assigned departments and campus.

Every day you will lead the integration of services to ensure patient-centered care, drive quality and cost-effective improvements, and serve as a role model for ethical management. You will maintain direct operational and matrix management responsibility for all nursing care areas on your assigned campus, actively building strong relationships with physicians, employees, and community stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership in patient care administration, collaborating effectively with medical staff and ancillary services. You will embody ethical principles, foster patient experience, and enhance staff engagement, ultimately achieving the objectives of campus operations and contributing to the division's CNO strategy.

* Maintains management responsibility for all nursing care areas located at his/her assigned hospital regardless of reporting structure. Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements ensuring that staff are appropriately licensed/certified and taking corrective action for non-compliance as needed.
* Develops, maintains, and evaluates patient/resident/client and staff data collection systems and processes to support the practice of nursing and delivery of patient care.
* Develops, maintains, and evaluates organizational planning systems to facilitate the delivery of nursing care, attainment of outcomes, and execution of strategic plans. Monitors the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services administration, making necessary adjustments to achieve consistent performance.
* Reviews cost, quality, safety, utilization, and value data regularly with nursing leaders, clinical leaders, and health system executives; responsible for both the dissemination of this information and the development of interventions needed to improve value.
* Leads change activities in accordance with CommonSpirit change models.
* Collaborates with facility President/CEO on administrative decision making.

Qualifications:

Required

* Bachelors of Nursing and minimum of 7 years of experience in the discipline
* Masters Degree must be obtained within 2 years
* Masters of Nursing and 4-6 years plus 5 years of leadership experience
* Registered Nurse: IA
* Basic Life Support - CPR

Preferred

* Master's Degree and 5 years leadership experience
