Overview: The Director, New Business Sales - Italy will lead new business sales for Avalara's core tax compliance solutions across Italy. You will develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for the region, with a strong focus on accelerating new business bookings while maintaining healthy ARR. You will lead an Account Executive, Alliance Manager, and Demand Generation Marketing Specialist. As the first sales leader in this market, this role plays a critical part in further establishing Avalara's presence and growth in Italy. You will report to the GM of International Operations. #LI-remote #LI-LS1 Responsibilities: * Own new business sales for Italy, consistently meeting quotas * Create and execute a go-to-market strategy tailored to the Italian market * Collaborate closely with marketing, partner managers, and the customer loyalty group to drive demand and pipeline * Own forecasting and reporting for the region, providing regular updates to executive leadership * Stay informed on tax compliance trends, competitors, and key partners within the Italian market * Build and lead a high-performing sales team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management * Lead the GTM team within Italy including Account Executives, Alliance Manager and Demand Gen Marketer Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience building and leading high-performing sales teams in addition to 6+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on SaaS * Knowledge of tax compliance and ERP ecosystems * Experience creating and executing go-to-market sales strategies within a SaaS environment * Experience forecasting and presenting business performance to executive leadership * Strong knowledge of the partner landscape in Italy * Fluency in Italian and English, both written and verbal * Experience selling into both mid-market and enterprise segments
