				Overview:

The Director, New Business Sales - DACH will lead new business sales for Avalara's core tax compliance solutions across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You will develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for the region, with a strong focus on accelerating new business bookings in Germany while maintaining healthy ARR across the entire DACH market. You will lead a GTM team including Account Executives, regional Solutions Engineer, Alliance Manager, and Demand Generation Marketing Specialist. As the first sales leader in this market, you will play a critical part in establishing Avalara's presence and growth in DACH.

Responsibilities:

* Oversee new business sales for the DACH region, consistently meeting or exceeding quotas
* Create a go-to-market strategy tailored to the DACH market
* Collaborate with marketing, partner managers, and the Customer Loyalty Group to drive demand and pipeline
* Manage forecasting and reporting for the DACH region, providing regular updates to executive leadership
* Stay informed on tax compliance trends, competitors, and important partners within the DACH market
* Build and lead a high-performing sales team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
* Directly manage Account Executives and indirectly lead an alliance manager, solutions engineer, and demand generation marketer

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience leading high-performing sales teams in addition to 6+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on SaaS
* Knowledge of tax compliance and ideally SAP
* Experience creating and executing go-to-market sales strategies within a SaaS environment
* Experience forecasting and presenting performance to executive leadership
* Strong knowledge of the partner landscape across the DACH region
* Fluency in German and English, both written and verbal
* Experience selling to both mid-market and enterprise segments
