Overview:
The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities:
Connects staff to our organization's heritage and legacy, reframing today's experience in light of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ's healing ministry, and by facilitating theological reflection in uncertain times. Responsible for divisional support of Mission Integration and ensuring alignment of Mission Integration activities with CHI key indicators for Mission: Values Integration, Leadership and Culture, Healthy Communities and Community Benefit process, Diversity, and Mission Impact on Core Business Practices. Will help others to understand the Ethical and Religious Directives of the Catholic Church. Reports to Division SVP Mission Integration.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide opportunities for cultivating spirituality in the workplace.
2. Partner with Healthy Communities to generate Community Health Plan (CHP), implement new plans and support ongoing plans. Ongoing CBISA education for relevant leaders.
3. Assess mission and spiritual care staffing based on the needs of the hospital employees and patients by working with hospital administration and leaders.
4. Promote development and awareness of mission and spiritual support to increase patient satisfaction and coordinate trainings for other departments for spiritual issues in healthcare.
5. Responsible for Strategic Planning for the Spiritual Care department within assigned hospital and greater community.
6. Ability to lead change management in a collaborative manner.
7. Participate in leadership meetings (Management Forum and Leadership Council) to be an informed leader who is better able to guide the integration of mission and support for the Health System and provide a voice for Mission Integration and Spiritual Care at an executive level.
8. Enable a team approach wherein communication lines are transparent, leadership is bold and productive.
9. Implement programming to encourage and support employee formation.
10. Understand promote and interpret the mission and values and ensure their application to policies and procedures; support a ministry culture which encourages pride and ownership in the mission.
11. Establish and coordinate overall departmental budget.
12. Model servant leadership and participate in committee work and task forces within the health system.
13. Create, survey and distribute metrics relevant to Mission effectiveness.
14. Curriculum development of information regarding history and heritage of our founding congregations, Catholic Social teachings, Spiritual Care, Ethics, and other mission oriented topics as they arise.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
*Master's Degree in Business related field (or equivalent experience), with experience in spiritual care
OR
*Master's Degree in seminary work, religious studies, with experience in business/leadership
Seven (7) years' experience in Mission and five (5) years leadership experience
Required Mininmum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:
Possess history and understanding of how to successfully implement change management process
