Overview: Director Development - Foundation Full-Time; Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM The Director Development-Foundation is responsible for the effective management and operation of the GCMH Foundation by fostering a culture of philanthropy among organization stakeholders and the communities the hospital serves. The Director Development-Foundation plans, coordinates, and executes the strategies necessary to develop donor relationships and financial gifts to achieve a sustainable tradition of annual and long-term support. The Director Development- Foundation responsibilities include Foundation board relations, donor relations and recognition, gift research and cultivation, and annual and/or capital campaign success. The Director Development-Foundation serves as a member of the GCMH leadership team, assuring that the organization's culture, systems, and procedures support Foundation fund development. Responsibilities: * Develop and execute the annual campaign strategy, including appeals and fundraising goals. * Lead efforts to attract annual gifts through direct mail, visits, events, grants, and business/organization partnerships. * Oversee and grow the planned giving program, including donor and professional advisor education. * Ensure accurate gift recordkeeping, acknowledgement, allocation, and IRS-compliant documentation. * Conduct research on gift potential from individuals, corporations, and grantmaking organizations. * Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, including managing pledge reminders and billing. * Attend and support Foundation Board and Committee meetings, including agenda oversight and timely financial reporting. * Oversee Foundation programs such as scholarships, FOCUS grants, and the Grateful Patient Program. * Lead internal campaigns (Associate Giving, Capital Campaigns) and support recruitment/orientation of board members and key volunteers. * Provide leadership and performance management for Foundation team members while staying current on philanthropic best practices. Qualifications: Education: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Non-Profit Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Healthcare, Communication or related field. Experience: * Demonstrated experience and participation in community service and professional organizations and activities. * Experience with managing a database. * Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
