Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Clinical Applications serves as a strategic leader and primary liaison between clinical areas and the Information Technology division of Pointcore. This role is responsible for the architecture, optimization, and ongoing support of the Training team and clinical application portfolio, including but not limited to ambulatory, inpatient, inpatient ancillary, laboratory, and imaging systems. The Director leads a team focused on enhancing system performance, improving end-user experience, and aligning technology solutions with clinical workflows, compliance standards, and organizational goals. In partnership with IT and operational leaders, this individual assesses business needs, drives application improvements, and oversees system selection, implementation, training, and vendor collaboration. The Director supports clinical data quality and integrity, ensuring applications are aligned with regulatory requirements. This role also provides change leadership, engaging stakeholders across disciplines to foster adoption and innovation. Through strong leadership and collaboration, the Director helps advance Pointcore's mission of delivering effective, scalable, and user-centered clinical technology.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Information Management, Business, or related field
Experience:
* 3 years of leadership experience.
* 5 years of experience in a medical or industrial setting working with numerous applications
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
* Experience in healthcare.
* Prior experience in implementing complex information systems and coordinated conversions, upgrades, and enhancements of the system.
* Experience in aligning IT strategies with clinical and operational goals of an integrated healthcare delivery system.
* Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year clinical IT roadmaps in collaboration with clinical and business leadership.
* Experience managing EHR vendors (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and ensuring contract deliverables and support expectations are met.
* Experience leading change management strategies related to technology adoption and clinical transformation.
* Working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements
Licensure/ Certification:
* Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
* Board Certification in Clinical Informatics (for MDs/DOs) or ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification (for RNs)
* Project Management Professional (PMP) or ITIL Foundation Certification Epic Certification
