New Client Development (25%)
* Identify and engage potential new clients, collaborating with Sam's Club Client Services/Sourcing to onboard them effectively.
* Develop and deliver compelling sales pitches tailored to the unique needs and preferences of prospective clients within both Branded and Private Brand segments.
* Conduct cold calls and outreach to establish connections and generate interest in Sam's Club's offerings.
Retailer Relationships (25%)
* Build and nurture strong relationships with category merchants, buyers, and senior leadership at Sam's Club, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Leverage these relationships to uncover new opportunities for client growth and enhance the overall customer experience for both Branded and Private Brand products.
Managing Client Relationships (20%)
* Own and cultivate relationships within Sam's Club's Private Label/Own Brand team, ensuring alignment with client priorities and supplier partners.
* Gain a comprehensive understanding of all client strategies and priorities, effectively communicating insights to enhance collaboration.
* Develop and maintain strong business relationships with supplier partners and retailers, ensuring alignment on product offerings and marketing strategies.
* Act as a subject matter expert for clients regarding Sam's Club's operations, and the programs being managed on their behalf, including Branded and Private Brand programs
Business Management and Development (20%)
* Maintain and grow existing supplier business and relationships for both Branded and Private Brand products, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and performance.

* Collaborate with cross-functional Daymon teams to identify category opportunities, develop sales pitches, and recommend new item opportunities based on market trends and insights.
* Manage supplier/client sales and revenue, executing new item launches, label updates, and product reformulations while ensuring deadlines are met for both Branded and Private Brand offerings.
Team Leadership and Development (10%)
* Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and accountability.
* Attract, develop, and retain top talent to support the collective goals of growing our Sam's Club business.
* Motivate and inspire team members to achieve agreed-upon metrics, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience:
5+ Years of experience in Sales and/or business development at Sam's Club, Retail, Food Marketing, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, Private Brand and GM experience a plus
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Knowledge of Sam's Club processes, personnel, and ways of working at Sam's Club at a deep level
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel formulas and pivot tables) PowerPoint (create decks including charts, graphs, and use SmartArt).
* General Merchandise (development and selling)

Position Summary
The Director Business Development is a high visibility position responsible for the direction and management of sales and business development operations including; presentation and RFP development, pricing, market competitiveness, and ROI value creation tools as well as overall growth strategies. May manage a team responsible for new business support, communications, ad hoc executive projects.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Execution
* Work extensively with appropriate Customer teams within ASM to develop leads and appointments with customers
* Work independently to generate own leads within key target customers
* Develop long term relationships within key customer/client targets
* Develop and deliver sales and capabilities presentations, prepare and answer RFP's, and have a clear understanding of the competitive landscape
* Work closely with VP Client Services / VP Operations and (respective teams as appropriate) to ensure customer's expectations are met and overall business plans and strategies are achieved
* Build and manage internal cross-functional teams of subject matter experts and/or to ensure business wins (IT, Finance, etc.)
* Responsible for quantifying each potential new business opportunity in respect to revenue and profitability in conjunction with Operations and Finance
Planning
* Coordinate objectives of the overall business development plan with all of the functional departments of the company as necessary
* Lead the development and implementation of an overall business development marketing strategy including competitive analysis and obtaining approval from senior management team
* Lead and develop for:
o Client and customer pitches and top to top meetings
o CRM and pipeline management
o Communications (executive blog, Inside Advantage, Difference Makers, etc.)
o Board meeting prep
* Prepare monthly and quarterly updates to the plan as needed and communicate updates to VP Client Services and management team
