Overview: * Full time * Varied shift * Every other weekend Performs tasks involved in providing a quality food service experience for patients. Responsible for quick, accurate and courteous service as well as acting as customer service liaison between nursing service, patients and the food and nutrition department. I will promote healthier communities. * Processes and maintains patient diet orders. * Modifies menus utilizing the diet manual. * Adjusts menus and snacks to provide patients food preferences and age specific needs. * Interviews patients for food preferences. * Works with patients and/or nursing staff to resolve tray service and/or food issues. * Checks patient tray lines. * Maintains record information. * Collects performance improvement data. * Performs other related work as required or requested. Qualifications: Education: * Minimum 2 years high school; high school graduate or equivalent preferred Experience: * Customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of modified diets or tray preparation preferred. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Working Conditions-Physical Requirements & Atmosphere: * Ability to communicate, follow instructions and write legibly. * Demonstrates excellent oral communication skills, in person and telephone, excellent customer service skills. * Demonstrates basic computer knowledge. * Interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, patients, medical staff and others.
