Overview: Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Technician in Barrington, NJ. Diesel Mechanic: is responsible for the repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul of heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. Some mechanics in this occupation specialize in hydraulic- operated transmissions and attachments, drive trains, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering. Description: Seeking a Diesel Technician with DOT inspection experience and Cummins engine knowledge to service Yard Goats, Jockeys, and Switchers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting yard switchers, performing brake repairs, and conducting basic electrical diagnostics. Must be comfortable creating repair orders and working independently. The fleet also includes CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment. * Perform services and repairs to diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and regular PM services are required. * Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer * Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required * Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures * Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles * Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance * Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles * Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary * Perform other duties as required * At least 5+ years experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school * Experience servicing and repairing CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment - highly desired * ASE Certifications - preferred * Must have valid Driver's License- Class C * Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email * Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) * Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle * Must provide own hand tools & toolbox INDKO
