Overview: Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Gilbert, the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, is a 198-bed, not-for profit hospital with more than 1,300 team members and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014, Phoenix Children's Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Responsibilities: As our Dialysis Nurse, you will provide specialized, compassionate nursing care for patients undergoing various dialysis treatments, ensuring their safety and optimal clinical outcomes. Every day you will assess patient conditions, proficiently initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, educate patients on their disease and treatment plan, meticulously manage vascular access, and ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols. To be successful in this role you will combine a strong clinical background in dialysis with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional patient education skills, and the ability to manage complex care plans while advocating for our patient's well-being. * Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education. * Evaluates care given by staff. * Coaches to improve care. * Ensures standard of care is maintained. * Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult. * Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care. Qualifications: Required * ADN * One year of dialysis experience * Registered Nurse: AZ * Basic Life Support - CPR * Advanced Cardiac Life Support Preferred * Bachelors Of Nursing BSN * Charge Nurse experience * One year of critical care nursing experience in the acute care hospital
