Qualifications: The Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Dialysis Unit is responsible for direct patient care, including patient scheduling, performing and monitoring vitals, dialysis machine set up, monitoring the patient during treatment, responding to alarms, etc. Key Responsibilities * Provides dialysis therapy to adult hemodialysis patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. * Specific duties may include measurement of patients' vital signs, BP, pulse, temperature, and weight; calculation of UFR; cannulation of AV fistula/gortex graft; performance of hemodialysis treatment; and setting up equipment. * Provides direct patient care including performing patient treatment from start to finish and handling daily operations between patient and dialysis machines. * Performs dialysis required laboratory procedures and quality control, including specimen collection, performing Hemoccult testing, blood sugar testing, completion of the laboratory request form, and proper labeling of the specimen collected. Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred * 0-1 years of relevant experience preferred * Candidates must be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) program.
