Diabetic Educator will work cooperatively with the multidisciplinary team on curriculum development and teaching materials for educational services to diabetic patients. He/she will explore all options to procure testing monitors, materials and community resources for the un/under insured. Acts as the coordinator and lead professional instructor of the AADE certified diabetes program following policies, protocols and other required standards to apply and maintain AADE certification. Responsible for teaching diabetes education care skills to patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in class and individual sessions. Responsible for maintaining optimal program development, polices, marketing and data outcomes. The educator will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care for patients enrolled in the diabetes program. The Diabetic Educator will act as a leader, innovator and change agent in the pursuit of improved quality of patient care.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Associate Degree Required
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Three years' experience in patient education. One year experience in diabetic education
Certified Diabetic Educator
RN
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
