Development of Kubernetes Cluster Monitoring Tools Intern

Responsibilities:

* Grafana and Prometheus  

* Assist in setting up Grafana dashboards for various Platform Management and Automation (PMA) components. 

* Learn to write and optimize PromQL queries to monitor different aspects of our system. 

* Help in the configuration and management of Prometheus for data collection. 

* Kubernetes Monitoring  

* Gain hands-on experience with Kubernetes by helping to implement monitoring solutions for cluster components. 

* Learn about key metrics for assessing the health and performance of Kubernetes environments. 

* Assist in setting up alerts for critical Kubernetes events. 

* Centralized Logging  

* Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of our centralized logging infrastructure. 

* Learn about log aggregation, indexing, and search techniques. 

* Assist in integrating logging solutions with our Kubernetes environment. 

* General Observability Tasks  

* Shadow experienced team members in troubleshooting and resolving issues using observability tools. 

* Contribute to documentation efforts for our observability stack. 

* Participate in team discussions about improving our monitoring and alerting strategies.

* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

* Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and containerization. 

* Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash). 

* Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems. 

* Eagerness to learn about Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and logging technologies. 

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
