If you want to make the best of a tough situation and have 3-5 years experience as a Development Accountant, you and I should talk. A prestigious commercial real estate investment and development company located in Vancouver is seeking is seeking to hire a full-time Development Accountant to join team. Please note this position is in Vancouver and you will be expected to join the team onsite in a permanent, full-time capacity. In this role you will utilize your strong financial accounting skills to analyze real estate projects by providing cost reporting for pre-construction and construction projects; perform variance analysis and reconciliation and review procedures for internal control purposes. Applicants for this position will be motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and professionalism. Some of the things you will do: * Support the set-up of accounting for new pre-development and development projects * Track and report of the pre-development costs and analyzing budget variances * Prepare monthly/quarterly project performance status reports and periodic audits of project budget, construction status reports and cost accounting * Assist management team to maintain investor relationship, provide the services and required ad-hoc report to stakeholders Things that we like to see: * 5 years' accounting experience within commercial real estate, property management or construction experience (this one is a must!) * Experience with cash management, budgeting, financial reporting and proformas * Strong financial analysis and modelling skills including cash flow and profit return analysis for real estate development projects using advanced Excel skills * Proven ability to provide high quality information in a timely and professional manner * Effective communication and ability to deliver presentations to senior management and internal teams.
