				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Design Technician to join our Civil/Site Discipline in Phoenix, Arizona. Our Design Technicians perform design, drafting, and project-related tasks on assigned projects. They transform basic survey data into CADD-produced drawings using appropriate software.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
* Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays and isometric drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces.
* Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas.
* Conform to the company's standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
* Create and setup plan sets.
* Prepare conceptual layouts with parameters provided.
* Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
* Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets.
* Preparation of fit lists.
* Prepare project exhibits.
* Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased.
* Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
* May be required to calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
* May be required to perform design computations, earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans.
* Prepare CAD files for authorized media release to external parties/agencies.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD. 
* 2-4+ years of relevant experience. 
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other related software.
* Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., familiarity with Microsoft Office, etc.).
* Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
