We are looking for someone to lead large construction projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, design, and managing contracts. This role works closely with the Plant Engineering team and supports tasks like interior design, furniture and equipment setup, signage, and move-in coordination. You'll also act as a key resource for the Construction Department, helping ensure quality work and strong relationships with clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead Large Construction Projects - Oversee all phases of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, design, and contract management.

* Ensure Compliance with Regulations - Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to healthcare construction codes and regulations, including IBC, ADA, DHSR, Life Safety, JCAHO, ILSMS, and NFPA.

* Coordinate with Multiple Teams - Work closely with Plant Engineering, contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure smooth project execution.

* Support Interior Design and Setup - Assist with interior design decisions, furniture and equipment placement, signage, and move-in logistics.

* Provide Project Oversight and Leadership - Supervise construction management staff, offer technical guidance, and lead decision-making in the field.

* Manage Budgets and Contracts - Take responsibility for project budgets and coordinate multiple contracts efficiently.

* Deliver High-Quality Client Service - Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, focusing on exceeding expectations through quality service.

* Utilize Project Management Tools - Use scheduling and project management software to monitor progress and meet deadlines.

* Communicate Effectively - Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, adapting to various personalities and authority levels.

* Travel and Adapt as Needed - Travel across locations, manage multiple remote projects, and be available for extended hours during emergencies or special projects.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education:

* High School Diploma or GED, required

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, preferred

Experience:

* Minimum seven years of experience in the design and supervision of major hospital construction projects, required

* Prior supervisory experience, preferred

Skills and Abilities:

* Ability to read and understand blueprints

* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact with diverse personalities and authority levels

* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

* Proven ability to manage project budgets, design, and construction activities

* Capable of coordinating multiple contracts and making sound decisions in the field

* Leadership experience supporting construction management staff

* In-depth knowledge of healthcare construction codes and regulations, including IBC, ADA, DHSR, Life Safety, JCAHO, ILSMS, and NFPA

* Expertise in construction administration, project management, bid selection, contractor oversight, real estate design, and facility renovation

* Strong client service orientation with a focus on exceeding expectations

* Proficient in scheduling and project management software

* Ability to manage multiple projects across different locations, including remote sites

* Willingness and ability to travel enterprise-wide

* Physically able to perform some sedentary work, walk throughout the day, and relocate office equipment or furniture as needed

* Professional telephone demeanor and good manual dexterity

* Proficient with standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, keyboard, etc.) and able to read digital and printed materials

* Flexibility to work extended hours during emergencies or special projects
