				Overview:

This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq

Reports to the Program Director and/or appropriate Manager and is directly responsible for the entire Emergency Medical Services Department. Provides direction and leadership in five functional areas: Operations, Training, Quality Assurance, Contract Compliance, Supply/Logistics and Safety. Provides or supports Incident Command either On-scene or at Emergency Operations Center.

Responsibilities:

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

* Provides leadership and day-to-day management of the EMS system.
* Provides direction and leadership to supervisory staff who directly oversee EMT-Basics, Paramedics, Education/QA officers and a supply technician.
* Manage staffing, scheduling, and unit hour production in a manner which benefits system, stakeholders, complies with contractual requirements, and remains fiscally sound.
* Oversees all on the ground administrative functions to include, personnel issues, time and attendance and all other administrative functions required to run the EMS system.
* Responsible for all United States Government (USG) and V2X and GW MFA directed reporting requirements.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and members of community; effectively communicate and make prompt and accurate decisions to help achieve company goals.
* Develops and oversees professional development/mentoring program.
* Provides oversight for all major training exercises and drills.
* Responds to emergency incidents required and provides incident management by delegation of authority from the Commander and Directorate of Emergency Services through the V2X Senior Director of Installation Operations.
* May be required to cover down during staff shortages.
* Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

* Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
* High School degree or equivalent is required
* Registration at the EMT-P level with the National Registry
* Requires Instructor certification in AHA BLS and ACLS is required.
* Requires ICS 300 & 400.
* Requires current registration as a NRP with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
* Must have current AHA BLS Health Care Provider and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
* A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Host Nation Heavy Duty Driver's License.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Experience:
* Requires a minimum of 5 years of related Management and Administrative experience in an EMS system at the equivalent rank of Captain.
* Requires at least 10 years of experience in a 911 system.

* Preferred Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree is preferred
* NAEMSE certification
* EVOC
* Hazmat Operations
* Instructor certification in AHA PALS and NAEMT PHTLS and AMLS is highly desirable.

* Skills:
* Ability to do math calculations, input data into the computer, and analyze data as requested.
* Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
* Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations.
* Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.

* Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Manages a section of employees in Emergency Medical Services Department 

* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. 
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

* Physical Requirements:
* Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
