Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination and completion of clerical and reception duties for Preventive Medicine and
Wellness (Adult Fitness, Cardiac Rehab, Medical Nutrition Therapy, Diabetes Self-Management Training). Assists
Director with telephone support, scheduling and completion of work documents.
* Greets patients and their families, visitors and other hospital/medical staff in a kind, courteous manner, utilizing
the principles of IDEA. Provides assistance with seminars being held in the building. Keeps lobby and public
areas organized and professional in appearance.
* Assumes primary responsibility for phone communication activities. Manages multiple phone lines, maintaining a
positive, cheerful demeanor.
* Demonstrates a positive, courteous, caring attitude during all encounters with patients and their family
members.
* Responds expeditiously to patient or physician complaints, demonstrating an ability to resolve issues
independently, with a positive outcome. Escalates issues to supervisor as appropriate.
* Pre-Registers all patients in all programs efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications:
Required
High School Graduate/GED
One year of secretarial experience
Preferred
Secretarial experience in healthcare setting. and
Insurance authorization and insurance benefit verification experience. and
Accounts Receivable experience in ahealthcare business setting. and
Patient scheduling experience. and
Electronic Medical Record (EMR)experience and
Cerner
