Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Department Manager to join our Water/Wastewater team in Raleigh, NC! We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic leader who can help us build our Water/Wastewater business in this region.

Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership, strategic/managerial direction, and guidance to achieve established financial and growth goals for the discipline.
* Responsible for overall productivity, profitability, client satisfaction, and quality of work.
* Develop, execute, and lead discipline marketing and business development strategies in collaboration with the marketing and business development teams.
* Work with leadership to build a production team.
* Evaluate and monitor budgets, billing, and collections.
* Consistently monitors the backlog of work and the sharing of resources within the discipline, maximizing staff utilization. Reviews staff utilization regularly and promptly addresses staff not meeting utilization goals.
* Responsible for fostering staff professional development, monitoring staffing/recruiting activity, and effectively managing employee relations.
* Comply with and ensure others' compliance with all policies and procedures.
* Serve as project manager while being a resource for staff on assigned projects and manage completion of projects regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
* Provide staff with technical assistance and supervision in the preparation of proposals and contracts for assigned projects.
* Prepare pertinent information for client/agency meetings and attend, as needed.
* Develop the skills and abilities of staff which are necessary for successful execution of work duties.
* Serve as a mentor and coach staff.
* Manage the performance of assigned staff, conduct performance evaluations, and provide input for promotions and staff advancement.
* Collaborate with other firms in pursuit of opportunities and manage subconsultant contracts.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
* P.E. (Professional Engineer) license required.
* 8+ years of experience in civil/environmental engineering with concentration on water/wastewater design.
* Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
* Ability to manage clients and develop new business.
* Excellent communication skills.
