Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Department Manager to join our Buildings Engineering Services team in Rochester, NY! Come experience how our Mechanical Engineers advance the built environment to accelerate the success of our communities, clients, and people.
We provide a full range of mechanical engineering services to municipal, commercial, higher education and public works agencies, partnering with clients to design buildings from the ground-up or to renovate existing buildings to optimize their use. From designing new and renovated systems, to providing both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning services, count on our team to develop a building solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients' goals.

Responsibilities:
* Reviews and manages operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
* Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for assigned team.
* Provides technical and management leadership to the assigned team.
* Develops marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
* Advises and assists professionals in other groups when expert knowledge and expertise is required.
* Manages activities so an adequate profit is earned on all projects.
* Reviews monthly productivity and labor hour utilization-rates, reports and adjusts as needed.
* Assigns projects to staff and schedules work.
* Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* 10+ years in Mechanical Engineering design fields required.
* Professional Engineering license in New York and reciprocity with other states required.
* Previous industrial and academic project experience preferred.
* Demonstrated effective leadership across large groups of employees.
* Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships which support the success of the Company.
* Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and efficiently, planning, organizing, and managing procedures, protocols, and/or staff to achieve desired outcomes for projects and programs.
* Effective delegation abilities to design and engineering employees.
* Strategic and outside the box thinking.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $132,000 to $165,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
