Job Title: Deli Service Counter Manager
Reports To: Deli Manager
Are you passionate about food service and enjoy providing customers (we call them guests!) with delicious meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? We are seeking a Deli Service Counter Manager to join our deli team in our retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the deli service counter, working closely with your team to keep the counter stocked and fresh while providing exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do: As a Deli Service Counter Manager at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:
* Provide Helpful Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it's a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you'll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day.
* Lead and Support: Lead, support, and reinforce company culture, guest service, and performance expectations across the deli team.
* Staff Management: Partner with the Human Resources Manager to maintain appropriate staff levels by interviewing and extending job offers to qualified candidates.
* Training and Leadership: Provide thorough and consistent training for new Deli associates and offer ongoing support to enhance retention.
* Ensure a Positive Experience: Set a strong example for the team and ensure a positive customer experience.
* Offer Assistance: Assist guests with locating items both on and off the sales floor, and address guest concerns with service or product-related issues.
* Inventory and Presentation: Manage the presentation of the service case, ensuring products are visually appealing and rotated to meet quality standards. Maintain accurate inventory and temperature logs.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 AM and 5 PM.
* Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment, including shelving, sales floors, and other necessary areas.
* Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
* Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For: To succeed as a Deli Service Counter Manager at Festival Foods, you should have:
* Experience: High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 3+ years of leadership experience (preferably in retail or restaurant settings).
* Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
* Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
* Safety Knowledge: A complete understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, along with knowledge of proper procedures for equipment and safety hazards.
* Industry Knowledge: Solid knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising, as well as the ability to make effective and timely decisions.

Work Schedule:
The Deli Service Counter Manager is a full-time position. Shifts may vary and can include mornings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leads, supports and reinforces Festival culture, guest service and performance expectations
* Maintains adequate staff levels by partnering with Human Resources Manager interviewing applicants and extending job offers to qualified candidates
* Responsible for the thorough and consistent training and leadership of new Deli associates
* Responsible for completion of weekly associate evaluation of company standard in guest service expectations (Ten Tile)
* Provides exceptional services to all guests and leads by example amongst team
* Assists guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floor
* Answers the telephone and assists guests using proper phone etiquette
* Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received, if in need further assistance, bring concern to Deli Manager
* Manages presentation of service case, ensuring consistent product attractiveness
* Manages service counter inventory and temperature logs
* Assists all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example
* Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by sanitizing, organizing work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed
* Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% at 10AM and 5PM
* Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 3+ of leadership experience (at least 1 years as manager) - retail or restaurant preferred
* Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
* Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
* Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
* Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler
* Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions

WORK SCHEDULE
The Deli Service Counter Manager is a full time position
The shift to be worked may be a morning shift, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
