Job Title: Kitchen Production Clerk - AM

FLSA Status: Hourly 

Reports to: Deli Department Manager

As a Kitchen Production Clerk, you will play a key role in creating outstanding guest experiences while maintaining high food quality standards. In this position, you'll ensure product freshness, monitor inventory, and assist in preparing custom meal orders, all while supporting a clean and food safe environment. Responsibilities:

What You'll Do: 

As a Kitchen Production Clerk at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include: 

* Deliver Outstanding Guest Experiences: Create engaging, memorable experiences by recognizing and reacting to guests' needs and providing excellent service. 

* Ensure Quality Control: Maintain high standards by inspecting, rotating, and replenishing deli products, ensuring proper temperatures are met for all items on display. 

* Fulfill Guest Orders: Take and execute special orders, including preparation and assembly of meal trays and step-by-step dinners, following recipes and tray building procedures. 

* Maintain Freshness and Accuracy: Monitor product dates, freshness, and shrinkage, ensuring that all products are dated and initialed appropriately. 

* Support Cleanliness and Safety: Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the department by organizing, cleaning, and sanitizing work areas, shelves, and sales floors as needed. Maintain food safety logs in accordance with company policies. 

* Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences. 

* Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.

To succeed as a Kitchen Production Clerk at Festival Foods, you should have: 

* Food Safety Certification: Must be, or be willing to become food safe certified with a strong understanding of safety protocols, including knowledge of equipment handling such as slicers, mixers, and ovens.

* Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both guests and team members in a fast-paced and diverse environment. 

* Attention to Detail: A keen eye for quality and accuracy in product rotation, inventory management, and following detailed recipes to ensure high standards are met. 

* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address guest concerns with tact and professionalism, resolving any issues quickly and efficiently to maintain guest satisfaction. 

* Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing needs and tasks within the kitchen, showing a proactive approach to responsibilities and challenges. 

* Knowledge of Food Production: Understanding of perishable department operations and experience in handling kitchen-made items with the ability to maintain freshness and quality. 

* Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring all daily responsibilities are completed on time while meeting production and quality goals.

Work Schedule: 

The Kitchen Production Clerk is an hourly position. The schedule will vary and may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Creates engaging, memorable experiences through recognizing and reacting to guests needs
* Receives, prepares, and fulfills guest orders and other special deli requests
* Ensures high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all deli products on display
* Takes and executes special orders and requests 
* Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette 
* Addresses guest concerns with prep and kitchen made items, and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
* Ensures all production standards are being met in the Deli Kitchen
* Fills the knee knockers, heat and eat sections, tray and dip wall, and all special orders
* Ensures that temperatures are being taken on hot bar and salad bar
* Recipe control
* Monitors dates and freshness of every product
* Shrinks the items that are outdated
* Ensures that products are dated and initialed in the cooler/freezer
* Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas including shelves and sales floor as needed
* Required to maintain food safety logs
* Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% at 10 am and 5 pm
* Fulfils Special Orders by following Special Order Tray Building Procedures
* Produces Step by Step Dinners by following detailed recipes
* Other duties as assigned
* Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. * High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Must be food safe certified (an actual food safety certification) 
* Ability to motivate a team of individuals 
* Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel 
* Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
* Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
* Must posses the ability to apply on-the job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, mixer, grinder, oven, and sham
* Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions
