Overview:
The Decision Support Analyst designs developments and implements reports datasets and dashboards supporting PFK’s population health quality improvement and financial reporting work streams. The Decision Support Analysts communicates timely and accurate results to leaders detects and investigates data anomalies and uncovers patterns or trends that drive change.
Responsibilities:
• Gathers requirements to design develop implement and support reports dashboards and other analytic solutions. Builds provider incentive reporting using HEDIS and other population health quality measures.
• Analyzes healthcare utilization and expense trends.
• Mines analyzes and visualizes large complex datasets. Assists in testing of raw data from payors as well as internal or external aggregated data sets.
• Protects patient and provider confidentiality and data security by following policies payor requirements and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
Qualifications:
Education Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Degree in Healthcare Administration Business Administration Health Information Management Statistics Finance or Computer Science preferred.
Skills:
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and work with new tools.
• Strong understanding of data concepts including an introductory level knowledge of SQL.
• Attention to detail and ability to function independently with minimal oversight.
• Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with precision and in a timely manner.
Experience:
• One year of academic or professional experience analyzing data required.
• Health care data background preferred.
• Exposure to creating dashboards in Power BI or Qlik preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital coding systems (including ICD CPT MSDRG APRDRG) and medical terminology preferred.
