Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE: Crash Champions is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT Data Analytics team for seamless operation support, database management, and security management of our database infrastructure. This role involves monitoring and maintaining database performance in SQL Server, keeping up with data availability and applying security. Microsoft Fabric database monitoring is a plus. Responsibilities on on-call support include backups, recovery procedures, implementing security permissions, troubleshooting issues and general support, optimizing performance-tuning with indexes, managing upgrades, and keeping in compliance with data protection policies. The candidate should be skilled in database management, security, optimization, and diagnostics. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and documentation skills are also required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: 

* Monitor and maintain database performance, ensuring data availability and security.
* On-call support during business hours and non-business hours, including weekends
* Perform regular backups and recovery procedures.
* Implement and manage database security permissions, conducting regular security audits.
* Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
* Deploy packages.
* Optimize and tune database performance. Conduct regular performance benchmarking to evaluate database efficiency and scalability.
* Create and manage documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions. Collaborate with development teams.
* Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and policies.
* Automate database management tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
* Builds strong relationships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared goals; Strengthens relationships by promoting mutual trust and supporting teammates.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

* Bachelor's Degree in Management Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
* 5+ years' experience with SQL Server and Azure SQL Server administration, including implementing backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and monitoring.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
* Experience working with diverse data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, Access, Flat Files, APIs, RESTful API calls, Smartsheet, and other integrated tools through SSIS or other ETL solutions.
* Ability to write optimized T-SQL code and handle error resolution effectively within MS SQL.
* Attention to detail, including validating data consistency and accuracy, and documenting processes and standards thoroughly.
* Capability to provide database security management, manage permissions, and maintain compliance with best practices.
* Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Experience with projects in full lifecycle development (SDLC) using tools like Azure DevOps and GIT in a dynamic environment.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES / TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES:

* Microsoft SQL Server - administration, optimization, and performance tuning
* Azure SQL Server - cloud-based SQL database management
* T-SQL - writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL queries
* MS BI Stack - SSRS (Reporting), SSIS (Integration), SSAS (Analytics)
* Azure Data Factory & Data Warehouse - data integration and warehousing
* JSON/XML - working with semi-structured data formats
* Azure DevOps / GIT - version control and CI/CD workflows
* Smartsheet - data integration and workflow support
* Power BI - data visualization and reporting (preferred but not required)
* Microsoft Fabric Platform - monitoring and integration (preferred)
