Responsibilities:

 Position Overview:

This role is integral to our federal services initiatives, focusing on leveraging data science, machine learning, and AI to deliver innovative solutions for federal agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive real-world impact. As a leader on the team, you will guide both technical and strategic aspects of AI projects. US Citizenship is required. This is a hybrid role, so must be able to work at our Reston, Virginia office.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead AI and data science initiatives aimed at solving mission-critical problems for federal agencies (e.g., predictive analytics, automation, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency).
* Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models, advanced analytics solutions, and data-driven decision systems that align with government needs.
* Work closely with federal clients, government stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to understand agency-specific challenges and opportunities.
* Develop and implement data strategies that support the government's digital modernization goals, improving efficiencies and delivering measurable outcomes.
* Mentor and manage junior data scientists, providing technical guidance and career development support.
* Collaborate with AI engineers and software developers to integrate models into operational systems for scalable impact.
* Ensure compliance with government data policies and regulations, such as FedRAMP and other security frameworks.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest research, tools, and techniques in data science and AI, applying them to solve complex problems in the public sector.
* Contribute to the company's AI Services strategy, providing thought leadership and helping to expand AI capabilities for government impact.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

* PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field preferred; a Master's degree with significant experience will also be considered.
* US Citizenship with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
* 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and lead projects.
* Experience performing data science and analytics in the ITSM space is required - specifically experience with IT System Architecture and Data Sources, Predictive Analytics, and knowledge of ITSM tools like ServiceNow, JIRA etc.
* Strong background in developing and deploying machine learning models, including experience with supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, and deep learning.
* Proven track record of applying data science techniques to solve real-world problems, particularly in government or regulated industries.
* Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis and model development.
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data infrastructure tools.
* Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security practices within federal environments.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience working on government contracts or projects, especially within the federal sector.
* Familiarity with federal data standards, such as NIST, FedRAMP, and other security requirements.
* Expertise in AI ethics, fairness, and bias mitigation, especially in the context of government use cases.
