Responsibilities: Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Data Engineer to spearhead the development and optimization of our data pipelines and infrastructure, leveraging Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Microsoft Fabric. In this critical role, you will enable data-driven decision-making by building scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that power our Microsoft ecosystem, including ERP, CRM, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, and Power BI. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive the data management strategy, ensuring seamless data integration and high-quality analytics in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a key contributor to our data management and governance program, the Data Engineer will design and maintain robust data pipelines to unlock actionable insights and support business growth. You will architect data flows, optimize storage and processing in ADLS and Fabric, and ensure alignment with governance and compliance standards. This role requires deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure tools, strong critical thinking skills, and a passion for transforming raw data into strategic assets that enhance operational efficiency and analytics capabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Azure Synapse, Fabric, and SQL Server to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources * Manage data storage and access in ADLS, implementing partitioning, security, and performance tuning * Build data pipelines in Fabric for real-time and batch processing, ensuring integration with Power BI for analytics * Collaborate with IT teams to automate data workflows, monitor data quality, and troubleshoot issues * Implement data governance practices, such as metadata management and access controls, in alignment with organizational policies * Support data migration and integration projects involving Microsoft ERP and CRM systems. * Additional job duties as assigned Skills/Experience Required: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) * 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with proven expertise in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Microsoft Fabric * Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Spark for data processing; experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Data Factory * Proven history of delivering end-to-end data solutions, from ingestion to transformation, in enterprise environments * Experience working in environments with complex, multi-source data ecosystems, including ERP and CRM integrations * Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and big data technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem * Knowledge of data security, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA if applicable), and version control tools like Git * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in cloud environments * Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) desired * Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with an initiative-taking approach to identifying and resolving data-related challenges * Effective communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders and end-users * Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and foster partnerships across IT, analytics, and business units * Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy, and governance * Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously * Passion for innovation, staying current with emerging trends in data engineering, cloud technologies, and the Microsoft data ecosystem Sarnova is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
