Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide inpatient or outpatient medical nutrition therapy for all ages.
Position Reports To: Food Services Director
Responsibilities:
* Assess nutrition needs and identifies nutrient requirements specific to disease state and age.
* Demonstrates understanding of the stages of change in relation to behavior modification and nutrition.
* Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Fosters continuity of care across the continuum of care.
* Provides nutritional care and education to patients/family in assigned area in a timely fashion according to standard policies and procedures.
* Works closely with interdisciplinary team members to provide quality nutrition care to patients.
* Teaches Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab classes, community education classes, and staff education. May include cooking classes and multimedia venues.
* Complete chart notes per organizational policy.
* May include Rehab or Outpatient nutrition.
* Participates in LEAN performance improvement and research activities.
* Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Master's degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field (or Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition of related field with Internship completed before 12/31/2023).
* Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (must be attained within 4 months of hire for new graduates).
* Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) - (may apply upon hire)
* Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Washington State Food Handlers Permit
* WA DOH Medical Assistant Registered License (apply after hire)
* Must be proficient with Windows navigation, Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired:
* 2 years of acute care and/or outpatient medical nutrition therapy
* Masters degree
* Advanced/Board Certification
* Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or ASPEN registration
* Software/Platform Skills: Electronic Medical Records experience
