Responsibilities:

The Digital Solutions (DS) Desktop Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and improving CGS's infrastructure by providing comprehensive support for end-user devices, systems, and services. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues while ensuring systems adhere to security and compliance standards.

The Desktop Engineer is also accountable for Lifecycle Management of IT assets, including provisioning, maintenance, and deprovisioning of devices. Additionally, this position supports infrastructure administration tasks, contributes to Patch and Vulnerability Management programs, and provides on-site support at CGS contract locations, including Department of Defense (DoD) sites. This role requires technical expertise in modern endpoint management platforms (e.g., MECM, Intune), scripting tools (PowerShell, Python), and enterprise systems such as M365 and Azure. The Desktop Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver DS projects, document processes, and train end-users, ensuring efficient and secure technology operations across the organization.

This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days in-office, and includes occasional travel to support contract site operations.

Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Technical Support and Troubleshooting
* Triage, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
* Respond to and resolve user support requests submitted via the Service Desk through our ITSM platform.
* Receive Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalations for complex incidents, handling further escalation to appropriate teams and collaborate on solutions.

* Configuration & Device Management
* Maintain and support IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including provisioning, maintenance, and deprovisioning.
* Design, implement, and support scalable Configuration Management platform to allow rapid deployment and improved observability of CGS IT assets.
* Participate in patch & vulnerability management programs, providing strategic and technical guidance on best practices and process improvement.

* Site Support
* Participate in solutioning and support for CGS P&L efforts at contract locations at DOD locations across US & abroad.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that contract requirements are met, perform hardware/software deployments, and ensure smooth transition of services from incumbent providers.

* Infrastructure Administration
* Assist team members with M365, Azure, and other system administration tasks.
* Assist team members with networking equipment, firewalls, software-defined networking, and other network administration tasks.

* Security & Compliance
* Ensure that systems adhere to established NIST 800-171 controls.
* Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

* Documentation & Training
* Document common issues, solutions, and procedures to help streamline support processes and reduce resolution times.
* Provide training and guidance to users on software, hardware, and other technologies.
