Overview:
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Cryptography Instructor, to teach students the principles, theories, and practical applications of cryptography within a cybersecurity or computer science curriculum. This position is located in Columbia MD, and will be an on-site position.
Responsibilities:
Delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and conducting labs that cover topics like symmetric and public-key cryptography, hash functions, digital signatures, and more advanced concepts like zero-knowledge proofs and quantum cryptography. Designing, developing, and updating cryptography course materials. Conducting research in cryptography or related areas and publishing findings.
* Confers with management, employees and clients to gain knowledge of work situations requiring technical training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
* Providing guidance and support to students on academic and career paths related to cryptography and cybersecurity.
* Keeping up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and technologies in cryptography and cybersecurity to ensure the curriculum is relevant and effective.
* In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and best practices. Familiarity with programming languages like Python and expertise in cybersecurity tools and platforms are often desired.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree with 12+ yrs experience
* Clearance Level: Secret
* 6+ years of experience delivering advanced cybersecurity training across diverse platforms and specialized topics in cryptography
* Skilled in instruction (ISD, ADDIE, Bloom's taxonomy, SAMR), cybersecurity principles, platform expertise, and communication
* IAT Level II or higher
Preferred Skills and Experience
* EC‐Council's Certified Encryption Specialist
* Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering
