Responsibilities: * Provides safe and knowledgeable intervention in crisis situations under the supervision of the RN, to ensure safe and consistent quality of care. * Takes initiative to identify and intervene in crisis situations using appropriate de-escalation and/or other modes of crisis management according to the Behavior Management Policy. * Able to assess the environment, target potential crisis situations, and intervene in a calm, safe, supportive manner. * Responds to all emergencies as trained and directed (First Aid, Code Blue, Code Red and Code Triage). * Assists with unit secretary and mental health technician duties as directed. * Participates in the orientation of new staff. * Teaches Handle With Care and de-escalation techniques to staff, under the supervision of the CIS Coordinator. Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. * Minimum of 3 years experience providing direct care in a behavioral health setting. * Must be able to safely operate Carrier Clinic vehicles and transport residents/patients. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. * Must be able to act with urgency and move 200 lb patient / resident / student with assistance. * Must have flexibility to work any shift, as needed. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: * Associate's degree in health related field. Licenses and Certifications Required: * Valid Driver's License. * AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or completed in the first 90 days of employment.
