				Overview:

Credentials Coordinator II position is responsible for verifying the identity and qualifications of Medical Staff and Adjunct Health Professionals to ensure each practitioner meets the requirements of the credentialing process and policies of One Brooklyn Health. The Coordinator II analyzes, and evaluates the business needs and serves as the liaison between the provider, enrollment department, quality, Human Resources, Risk Management and OHS/EHS. Collaborates with administrative leadership and the clinical community to provide status updates and feedback for the approval of credential and privileges. Acts as the internal expert of OBH credentialing policies and procedures, and is responsible for knowing what changes have been made to the process.
Responsibilities include participation in the management of credentialing goals, timelines and objectives; supervision of provider files; assisting with defining measurable and actionable metrics; supervision of objectives within the credentialing platform, development of relationships including interactions with departments, administration, clinical leadership and physicians.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for all aspects of the credentialing and/or re-credentialing process for the Medical Staff and Adjunct Health Professionals, including:
* Organizing and reviewing applications for completeness and accuracy.

* Performing verifications of education, training, experience, certifications and boards. Ensures requests for privileges are in compliance with criteria outlined in the department's delineation of privileges.
* Identifying and escalating red-flag issues
* Organizing documentation for department and committee review and approval.
* Recording and maintaining practitioner information in electronic and hard copy filing systems. Includes data entry and accurate maintenance of the credentialing database and safeguarding private and confidential information.
* Acts as customer service liaison and trains all new staff on the credentialing process and database (Symplr/Cactus).
* Assesses and re-prioritizes work in accordance with shifting priorities and backlog.
* Operational Performance
* Responsible for the coordination of credentialing activities that optimize best practices for physician and department satisfaction.
* Ensures active communication with all external and internal constituencies to establish strong relationships that are complimentary and consistent with organizational goals and strategic needs.
* Ensure that time is properly allocated in order to achieve credentialing deliverables and expectations of clients/physicians/providers, while adhering to credentialing standards.
* Establishes and maintains working relationships with the organization in order to obtain information and content from providers for health system selections.
* Serve as an operational resource for internal team members for expedited problem identification and resolution, provision of credentialing-specific updates, and team interactions and deadlines.
* Provides clear and timely written and verbal status updates to applicants and department administrators.
* May participate in probationary and annual performance evaluations.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

* College degree preferred, or an equivalent of education plus relevant experience in a healthcare environment. 

Experience:

* Three (3) years related experience in a healthcare setting. 

Knowledge and Skills:

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. 
* Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple interests. 
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
* Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. 
* Competency using a variety of computer software.
* Cactus Credentialing System or equivalent credentialing software. 

Licenses/Certifications:

* CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

* Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
* Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
* Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and use of a computer and screen viewing throughout the working day.
