Cook - Nutrition Services
Northridge Hospital Medical Center
We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. The Ideal candidate will have previous experence as a Cook. As a Cook at Northridge Hospital Medical Center you will prepare, season and cook meals for our hospital patients, employees, physicians, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
* Prepares and cooks all items needed for patient tray line cafeteria and catering events.
* Prepares meals that are of good quality: seasoned properly proper doneness temperature consistency on time and presented attractively.
* Accurately prepares meals using proper techniques; confers with dietary personnel as necessary.
* Follows appropriate recipes as provided.
* Properly wraps dates and stores food.
* Uses proper body mechanics when handling food and kitchen equipment.
* Properly uses a thermometer for cooking and storing of foods.
* Follows modified diets for special patient care.
* Responsible for cooking to diet office tallies and forecasts.
* Responsible for keeping work area neat clean and organized.
* Responsible for rotation of foods in Cooks boxes.
Qualifications:
* High School graduate or GED
* A minimum of two years recent experience as a cook or assistant cook.
* Fire Safety card required within 90 days of hire.
This position is covered by SEIU-UHW and subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
