St. Luke's Health System in Wood River is seeking a Cook 1 to join our team.
Unit/Position Summary
The Cook 1, under direct supervision, prepares food in accordance with culinary techniques, standardized recipes and quantities.
Responsibilities
* Prepares and cooks foods according to recipe standards utilizing basic culinary techniques. Prepares food ensuring that strict safety standards are followed.
* Determines food quantities and requirements needed and plans maximum utilization of ingredients, food and leftovers.
* Plans, pulls and preps ingredients as needed.
* Adheres to all food hygiene and health and safety requirements in order to meet regulatory and company standards.
* May order and stock inventory for the department.
* Resolves routine questions, issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher levels.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
