Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Health Specialist works to improve the health status of the community through supporting care for the whole person. The Community Health Specialist works with community organizations, faith-based organizations and key stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement in OSF HealthCareâ (tm)s (OSF) community outreach initiatives; as well as assisting in coordination, implementation and awareness of outreach initiatives. This position is also responsible for operations of the mobile health unit.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare, social services, community development or a related field
Experience:
* Two years' experience in the healthcare, social services or community development.
* Maintains acceptable driving record as set forth by OSF Automotive Services Driver Criteria.
Licensure/ Certification:
Current and appropriate State Driver's License. Class C - non CDL Driver's license obtained upon start date.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's degree Experience: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Advance care planning or related training Licensure/ Certification: Class C-non CDL Driver's license
