				Overview:

Communications Officer - Protective Services 

The Protective Services Communications Officer provides professional support to internal and external customers in a manner which meets or exceeds defined department objectives. Receives and transmits emergency and urgent information via radio, computer, and telephone to Protective Services personnel. This position will work in a team environment to maximize individual and team performance.

Schedule: 1:45pm-10:15pm (Full Time, Benefits Eligible)

Responsibilities:

*  Documents designated communications or events in the incident reporting system.

*  Answers all emergent and non-emergent calls while prioritizing them.

*  Monitors CCTV cameras, access control systems, and dispatches the appropriate teams to any issues found.

*  Dispatches the appropriate parties to incidents that occur on or surrounding NCH campus.

*  Notifies Protective Services officers of incoming helicopters and EMS.

*  Acts as a liaison for employees and visitors by providing information regarding a visitor's visitation at NCH or an employee's day to day activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

*  Minimum education level of High School diploma.

*  Prefer Associate's Degree from an accredited institution and/or equivalent law enforcement/military experience and training.

Skills:

*  Ability to read and comprehend hospital/departmental policies and procedures, criminal statutes, and regulatory publications.

*  Sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all persons, regardless of position, ethnicity, sex, age, or economic status in order to enforce policies. The ability to intervene in interpersonal conflict consistently and equitably.

*  Excellent customer services skills.

*  Ability to multi-task.

*  Ability to write legibly.
