We are actively seeking a Cloud Architect to join a 10-15 person team supporting Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of the HHS Zero Trust Program Management Office (ZT PMO) effort is to assist in the implementation of the HHS Zero Trust Architecture. This initiative is crucial for enhancing the cybersecurity posture of HHS by transitioning to a "zero trust" security model, which mandates continuous verification of each user, device, application, and transaction. Responsibilities: The Cloud Architect is responsible for acquiring, developing, and maintaining reference architectures, reference implementations, standard operating procedures and technical guidelines and standards to facilitate secure Cloud practices throughout HHS and its operating divisions (FDA, CDC, NIH, etc.). The Cloud Architect will also lead the design and implementation of the Cloud architecture that the team will leverage as a sandbox for evaluating tools for applicability, compatibility, and use in the HHS environment. This includes establishing infrastructure as code to emulate HHS and OpDiv technical environments to rapidly establish the test beds required to assess new tools under consideration. * Collaborate with Credence team of Cloud Engineers, Solutions Architects, and Cybersecurity Professionals to migrate, manage, and modernize workloads in the cloud servicing Credence customers. * Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot complex problems and design and implement solutions. * Assist team to solve complex technical problems and build automations to reduce effort applied to mundane tasks. * Research and learn the latest available technologies to continuously find more efficient solutions to common problems. * Document technical processes and procedures including architecture, design, concepts of operations, technical briefs, analysis of alternatives, product evaluations. Qualifications: * Public Trust (Tier 4) is required. * Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity) is required. * Five (5) years of demonstrated programmatic experience in support of Federal customers * Experience with cybersecurity, zero trust and associated NIST Guidance is highly desirable * Experience designing and architecting multi-Cloud environments, including AWS and MS Azure. * Relevant Cloud certifications are highly desirable and acquisition of additional certifications will be required on a periodic basis. Some examples of relevant certifications include: CompTIA Cloud+, Certified Cloud Architect (CCA(tm)), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, NetApp Certified Hybrid Cloud Architect, Google Certified Professional (GCP) Cloud Architect. * At least 3 years of demonstrated programmatic experience in support of Federal customers * Experience working on Federal Government contracts performing all functional duties independently * Experience in writing technical standards and guidelines and architecture documentation. * Establish techniques and scripts to report on Cloud performance activities * Assist in defining automated test suites for instrumentation into CI/CD pipelines * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to interact and effectively brief senior-ranking Government leadership.
