You will develop and implement staff competencies to ensure clinical teams are equipped to provide safe, effective care for mothers and newborns across the Birthplace. Working closely with the Vice President of Patient Services and department leaders, you will assess educational needs, design targeted learning initiatives, and support ongoing professional development for nursing staff within the Birthplace. Responsibilities: * Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based patient care practices. * Plan, coordinate, and oversee orientation programs for new employees, including supporting and educating preceptors throughout the onboarding process. * Design and deliver educational programs, including in-services, skills labs, and training for high-risk and high-volume clinical skills. * Assess learning needs, evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives, and revise programs to ensure continuous improvement. * Ensure staff are informed of updates to clinical procedures, standards of care, and new equipment, providing training as needed. * Partner with leadership and other departments to support staff development, improve patient outcomes, and maintain strong interdisciplinary relationships. Qualifications: Education: * Diploma from an accredited RN program required. Experience: * Minimum of three (3) years of acute care experience required. * Demonstrated leadership experience preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): * Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa. * Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. * Must possess and maintain ACLS. * Must possess and maintain PALS or NRP certification. *Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs.
